We have just returned from a fabulous fortnight in Kefalonia. It was our first time on the island and we will definitely be back.
Oskars studios was superb. We found it to be really well equipped and was presented exceptionally well. It was spacious and in really good condition. The garden were fantastic (garden is private and the location quiet).
We found the studios to be really well located. The location was really peaceful but there were a really good taverna within easy walking distance. It meant that we didn’t need to drive out in the evenings and were able to enjoy the local wine!
It was also easy to get around. It only took a few minutes to get from the airport – really easy – but there was no aircraft noise at all. Argostolli only took 3 minutes in the car.
We thought that it was really good value. We flew with Easyjet out of Gatwick and got a really good deal. We hired a car – you could probably manage without but we really needed it to explore the island.
We have been to other Greek islands before but this was our first visit to Kefalonia – and we will be back, both to the island and to Oskars studios.
My partner and I recently stayed at Oskars studios and had a wonderful time. The owners are friendly and most helpful, offering advice about attractions on the island which we visited due to their enthusiasm. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with beautiful views to the sea and sunset.
We are already planning our next trip as we found it hard to leave at the end of the week, an idyllic location we cant wait to re-visit.
See you soon.
We have just returned from the most wonderful holiday at Oskars studios. The place was superb, very well equipped , spacious ,clean and comfortable. It’s location could not have been better, quiet and peaceful with lovely beaches and restaurants close by, all set in the sea. An extra special mention must be for the owners Andreas and Roza who are a really lovely couple, with their warm friendly welcome and Makis with knowledge of the island, places to visit made our holiday one to remember. We would thoroughly recommend this beautiful place. Thanks very much Andreas, Roza, Makis and Yeannis (shef).
My third visit to lassi, stayed each time at Oskars studios. Love the resort.
Plenty of tavernas each side of the main road which runs through the town (But the best on I Oskars restaurant).
No noisy night clubs or single sex groups.
Main beaches mainly clean sand and shallow warm sea. Some music blastin out from beach bar at far end to where we settled.
First week lovely and calm, second week more wind, sea bit rough for swimming.
Kefalonia Greece is one of the most popular destinations among tourists of the Ionian Islands. It’s popular because of its many wonderful beaches with fine sand and turquoise, bleach-like, waters specific to the island, picturesque villages, National Park on its highest mountain (Mount Ainos).
One of my friends spent a week traveling around there in last 2009. He told and showed me the stunning coastal and mountainous scenery snaps. After seeing them I said why I didn’t go there yet.
Now after reading the article, it boost me to plan my trip to Kefalonia.
I just got back after a two week vacation in Kefalonia. And I already have a reservation for next year. The place is incredibly beautiful with large patches of greenery, fine beaches, underground lakes and caves, churches, castles, monasteries and charming villages, where the traditional way of life still exists. Unlike some other islands in Greece, hopefully Kefalonia hasn’t fallen prey to the package tourism sharks. It was off season, of course, and tourists were few, but I noticed that the island was authentic and rural. Maybe the big size is a plus. Most beaches were secluded in late April, even the famous Myrtos, and tourists were all foreigners. The Greeks apparently prefer July and August for holidays, not spring. As for prices, they seemed surprisingly! I don’t know if it is Kefalonia that has low prices, or if the Greeks want to attract tourists and get their prices low (which is very good, because prices in Greece seemed uncontrollable over the last years!) but we stayed and ate for burgain! We booked Oskars studio in Lassi for a week, rented a car for 30 euros three days and 27 euros was the highest amount we paid for a meal for 2. It seemed that the Greeks have just started to understand that apart from nice locations, tourists also want low prices to come to Greece! Next step is to lower the ferry tickets, too!
I was in Kefalonia a few week ago with a couple of friends. I will not talk about the beaches and the villages because I’m sure you have heard a lot about these kind of beauties in Kefalonia. Let me just mention a couple of things that impressed us on our trips. First of all, I had a fantastic time at Oskars studios in Lassi. Luckily, we rented a car and we could visit some of the best beaches that the island is popular for. Myrtos was just a beautiful beach, as far as I can remember we stayed there for about 6 hours. Lourdas and Antisamos are very nice too. Unfortunately, we missed a lot of great sights of the island but at least we got to visit the Melissani Cave! The complete tour was done by boat where it passes through the island. It is a gorgeous lake with boats, a true paradise. We also visited the Monastery of Sissi constructed on top of a cliff above the sea. The view from up there is magnificent which makes it worthy to visit. Unfortunately no time to go to Fiscardo and Lixouri, hopefully next time. You see the island is so big that it was impossible to see it all at once. The narrow roads were also a reason of delay.
For all those who plan to travel to Kefalonia it might be useful to know that Kefalonia has a perfect position to travel a little bit around and to visit neighbors islands. There are several local travel agincies that offer one day trips to Ithaka, Lefkada, Scorpio, Meganissi. Once on island don’t miss to visit Assos, beautiful pictoresque village with special atmosphere, for me it was more impressive than Fiscardo, and of course Melissani Lake and Mytros beach. Argostoli is a nice little town worth seeing, but all beautiful sandy beaches in this part of island are at Lassi, so it might be a perfect combination to stay in Lassi and go to Argostoli by night. If you want to go to Paliki peninsula, there is a regular ferry service between Argostoli and Lixouri. Of course once on island don’t miss to try their famous Robola wine and domestic feta cheese.
And for the best meal just visit Oskats restaurant on the Fanari road.
Pine-covered hills, crystal waters sparkling in the sunshine, pastel-colored buildings festooned with flowers. Kefalonia is an island of outstanding natural beauty. Here, you’ll find friendly people, good food and a choice of small, unspoiled harbor towns, such as Fiskardo, Assos and Agia Efimia. I highly recommend Kefalonia, it left an indelible impression on me, so much so that I chose it as the location for my novel.
We stayed at Oskars studios in Lassi (fanari road) for 1 week.
If you want peacefull in a beautifull setting then this is the place for you.We walked to Lassi several times, the taxi back was 5 euros. We walked to Agostolli and back.
All in all a lovely peacefull week with perfect weather.
