Koroni Beach in Kefalonia: Koroni is a beautiful sandy cove that lies around 22 km east of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia. It is a delightful sandy beach with few pebbles, surrounded by steep cliffs and lush vegetation. It used to be a haven for turtles, but the clay from the cliffs has made the sand quite dense, creating an inhospitable environment for the lovely small creatures. On the other hand, the same clay, which is found near a small creek, is said to be good for human skin; hence, visitors can use the substance and enjoy their personal self-spa session.
The beach is partly organized with umbrellas and sun loungers to rent, but a large are also remains unspoiled, ideal for those who prefer a more tranquil environment. Additionally, higher on the hill, one will find a charming bar that allows panoramic views of the sea.
The area offers an amazing sunset and breathtaking sceneries of the cape and the blue horizon.
The beautiful bay is reachable through a track path. A parking area is available.
