Katelios Beach in Kefalonia: Katelios village and its lovely beach of the same name are located 29 km from Argostoli. The area is known for its peaceful atmosphere, ideal for a family vacation and nature lovers, while the coast is recommended for long walks and sunbathing. On the main road of Katelios, one will find a couple of nice beachfront cafes and fish taverns. The beach is partly organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, but unspoiled areas with no facilities are also available. It is covered in a combination of golden sand and pebbles, and its turquoise waters are crystal-clear.

A stroll around the village that lies amidst lush green forests with olive groves and lush vegetation in the green valley is quite interesting and refreshing. Some of the historical sights that visitors can explore include the impressive church of the Virgin and the tiny village of Markopoulos, which is built amphitheatrically at a high altitude with a perfect view of the Ionian Sea.
